"To Tell A Story"
Featuring the art work of Kat Murphy, Jesse Good and Tate Pray Opening September 9, 7:00 to 10:00pm Show runs through October 7, 2006
"To Tell A Story" artists Jesse Good, Kat Murphy, and Tate Pray explore
the impulse to tell a story using a variety of media.
Tate Pray was one of the original founding members of the Hygienic
Co-op. He went on to become a graduate with "Excellence in Painting" at
the Lyme Art Academy class of 2005. He currently resides in
Charlottesville, Virginia. In this upcoming exhibition Tate's
innovative use of materials and process are sure to turn heads as he
muses about occurrences in the wilderness.
Jesse Good is a sculptor and mixed media artist residing in New
London. Known for his poured concrete forms and inflatable sculptures,
Jesse's expertise and unconventional approach "amuses and confounds
even the casual viewer." While he continues to develop his personal
sculptural sensibilities, Jesse works on a variety of commissions
including the monumental Wall drawings of Sol Lewitt.
Kat Murphy is a New London Artist living at the Hygienic Co-op. She
has invited her fellow artists and friends "to tell a story". Kat is
fresh from her recent six week artist in residency in Bulgaria
sponsored by the Griffis and Orpheus Foundations. Her story reflects on
the strife within the world and uses symbols and layered images to
create what she calls "a gem of devastation"
