"ORGANIC INGENUITY"
On September 10, 2005 in New London, Connecticut, the Hygienic Art Galleries
will hold on opening reception from 7:00 to 10:00pm for "Organic Ingenuity".
The exhibit will feature award winning artists, Tamara Dimitri, Diana
Teeter, Janet Van Horne and Jim Stidfole, the show will close at 6:00pm,
October 8, 2005.
Tamara Dimitri's installations are inspired by several places that she has
lived in. Tamara states that her pieces represent, "sylized landscapes as
diverse as the desert southwest to the woodlands of the northeast".
Diana Teeter is a published photographer who is passionate about her
creative process. Her "Learning To Fly" series explores the psychology of
attempting the impossible without fear of failure.
Janet Van Horne expresses her artistic values in new ways. Her most recent
works are mixed media on canvas, she uses photography and verbage to create
a collage effect, in some she incorporates photos, paints, pencil, papers,
etc. to create each collage.
Jim Stidfole's beautifully turned bowls are an exploration of the natural
magic of wood. His sculptural shapes bear gorgeous red striations that have
occurred as a result of the forces of wind and water on the wood.
