Women's Voices - LOUD & CLEAR

Women's Voices presents LOUD and CLEAR: an Art Exhibition showcasing the work of nearly 60 local women. The OPENING RECEPTION will take place on Thursday, May 26th at The Hygienic Galleries from 6:00pm-9:00pm.

This is the fifth annual exhibit of Women's Voices, a collaborative program of Hygienic Art and Kente Cultural Center. For the past five years, Women's Voices has been instrumental in strengthening the female community of New London County. The artwork for "Loud and Clear" has been inspired by workshops with such prominent local artists as Eva Leong, Navada Swan, Kirsten Ursem, Jessica Thornton, Terrie Lightfoot and Trish Morales. The exhibit will showcase a variety of art forms including Chinese Sumi Brush painting, hand-built pottery, fabric sculpture and quilt art.

Funding for Women's Voices has been made possible by the Puffin Foundation, Bodenwein Foundation, The Garde Arts Center, Kente Cultural Center, and Hygienic Art Galleries.
