The past year the Hygienic has presented many opportunities to visually stimulate the public with work from both emerging and internationally acclaimed artists. Focusing on giving the New London community new and inventive viewing possibilities, the Hygienic has been able to bring the arts from around the world to downtown New London providing its growing art culture an opportunity to communicate and interact with the art world on not only a local but national level.

To kick off the shopping season the Hygienic Art Galleries will present an eclectic array of purchasing possibilities for the organized holiday shopper on their favorite day of the year. The infamous Black Friday November 26th will prove to be one of added bonus. Opening preview doors from 3-7, the Hygienic wishes to give gung ho ho ho holiday shoppers a chance to get, while the gettin’s good. Mark this one on your advent calendar. The gallery has worked to bring the widest possible range of artistic representation with prices allowing for multiple presents to adorn your tree or menorah.

The annual Holiday show has been enticing the public with creative gift giving possibilities for the last three years and will provide the same quality fine art extravaganza for this coming holiday season. We are pleased to announce the return of some of the past holiday presenters Jenn Collins, Don Ecleston and Donna Martell to name a few, displaying their new works for you the holiday consumer. Jenn Collins Hygienic resident will deliver some of her ever so popular mixed media assemblage organically calculated to perfection, wrapped in humor beauty and spontineity. Ecleston a local favorite will display some of his beautifully sculpted watercolors. Ecleston intertwining elements both political and humorus offer contemporary whimsy with a brilliantly colored pallet. Martell pastel landscape artist able to capture the warmth and light of seasons past will give the local viewer warmth and familiarity textured in beautifully vivid color .

Not only does this wrap show present some of the areas finest that you have grown to know and love but also the work of new associates from some of our neighboring areas. One of our new featured artists Michelle Sholtis of new york city showcased on the front of the wrap show invite will present innovative ceramic works. Sholtis’s work provides the viewer organic elements exemplifying attributes both aquatic and arborous.

The Wrap show this year presents many opportunities for different enthusiasts. Beadwork, wood work, metal work , prints, photos, and mixed media are only a few of the many types of fine art that will tempt the holiday shopper to ponder... one for him her and them... oh, and one for me? Remember though, its time to shop for loved ones not shop for yourself, but as you well know the Hygienic is not one to deny the creative needs of anyone, so we wont tell if you won’t.
