Hygienic Filmwerks
Hygienic Filmwerks was created as a subset of Hygienic Art, Inc. to support the development of emerging independent film-makers. Under the auspices of the Filmwerks logo, Hygienic has held Filmfests and technical workshops to foster communication amongst emerging film-makers and to enhance their technical capabilities. Hygienic Filmwerks now provides three separate venues for independent short films: the Student Showcase; the open Hygienic Screening Room; and the Hygienic Filmwerks Juried Filmfest.
Submissions for each should be made to:
Hygienic Filmwerks
P.O. Box 417
New London, CT 06320
The Hygienic Screening Room:
The Screening Room is an open submission screening of new films (submitted by their creators) that is part of the Annual Hygienic Art Show. In keeping with the spirit of the Annual Hygienic Art Show, there will be no judge, no jury, no censorship, no fees. The Annual Show is always held on the last weekend of January. For 2008, the Screening Room will be held in a location TBA on January 26, 2008. Submissions for the Screening Room will be accepted until January 21, 2008. Preferred format is DVD (contact us if not available in DVD format). Identify on mailer as “Screening Room.”
The Hygienic Filmwerks Juried Filmfest:
The function of the Juried Filmfest is to screen and honor the best new short films submitted to Hygienic Filmwerks. The guidelines are as follows:
* Films must be no longer than 30 minutes
* Preferred submission format: DVD (contact us if not available in DVD format)
* Submission deadline is: Postmarked on or before January 5, 2008

Hygienic PostArt Project
A fun fundraiser to support the Hygienic Art Galleries & Art Park.
Hygienic Art bought and historically renovated this landmark building into a residential artists co-op and public art galleries. The building opened in January of 2000 for the 21st annual Hygienic Art Exhibition and stands as a testimony to community activism. Hygienic Art exists today as one of New London's premier community development projects and fine arts venue.
The Hygienic Art Park Project evolved from its conception as a public arts garden and source of beautification of its surrounding building lots, to the construction of the sculpture garden and outdoor theater. The implications of this "work in progress" are enormous for the advancement of art and economic development in downtown New London. Culture, art, community and prosperity all become reality as a result of this initiative.
Your support of this project is very important and vital to its completion. Tax deductible donations are needed.
Consider becoming a part of Hygienic history in this monumental endeavor.
